Creations of a Lesser God ?

Maybe it's the animal lover in me that has forced me to write this up, but I couldn't resist the urge to vent out my frustration for being helpless when I saw a leopard being brutally stoned to death on a news channel on TV today. Its fault - it had unknowingly strayed into the "civilization".
What was disgsting was the fact that the poor thing was trapped in a net first by the zoo authorities and then beaten to death by them when it was fully known tht it could cause no harm and could very well be released into its natural habitat.
I wonder whether our responsibilities towards endangered species is mere paperwork chalked out
by unscrupulus politicians as a marketing gimmick..In fact, on second thought, they are not to be blamed. It's us - the people , who acted on the impulse of kiling the beast and the prime reason was evidently a lack of awareness and and a sense of responsibility towards environment among the masses. Again , the root cause for this is - in our schools we are taught to "fear" wild animals rather than consider them as a "species with a right to survive".
Its high time for a change of attitudes lest we head for ecological disaster. Moreover, in Hinduism , they say that you get a human's life after billions of lives as other creatures, then why waste others' lives ? Sparing a life might leave u richer by a thousand blessings.
